About Corinne
Complementary Therapist in York
My name is Corinne Brown and I'm a qualified Complementary
Therapist working in Gillygate, York and from my practice in
Thorganby, York UK. I am fully trained and registered with
each of the therapies’ regulating
bodies. I am also a member of ‘Embody’ who register professional
therapists. These bodies require me to develop my knowledge and skills
so I attend several courses each year.
Background and Training Background
I worked as an NHS pharmacy technician for many years, but
had for a long time taken an interest in complementary
therapies. After having Reflexology myself for stress related
health
issues and finding how effective it was I decided I would
like a change of direction so I trained in Reflexology
and became a therapist! As my interest grew, one therapy
led
to another and then, having pets of my own, I became interested
in treating animals. I find it greatly satisfying helping
people and animals get well.
Training
Reflexology:
Trained with the British School of Reflexology, qualifying

for people with Cancer and Multiple Sclerosis (MS). I have
experience of working with MS clients as I provide cover
for holidays at ‘Woodlands’, the MS respite
centre in York. Completed a course in Vertical Reflexology.
Attended two of Tony Porter's Advanced Reflexology training
seminars.
Bowen:
Qualified in May 2002 with Bowtech. In June 2003 completed
a course in Neurostructural Integration Technique (NST)

Bowen’ aimed at children with special needs, e.g. cerebral
palsy, autism, Asperger’s syndrome, dyspraxia etc.
October 2008 completed an NST update course on the latest
developments, as the technique is continually evolving.
